About

School History

The School of Sciences was founded in 1925 as the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, while its operation began in the academic year 1927-28 and consisted of the Departments of Mathematics and Physics. The other departments were established later. The Department of Chemistry was established in 1943, followed by the Departments of Biology and Geology in 1973 and finally the Department of Computer Science in 1992. In 1982, following changes in the administrative structure of the university, the faculty acquired its present name.
